We have confirmed the adhesion-preventive effect of trehalose solution using 28 rabbits.　In this preliminary test,　total ovariohysterectomy was performed and saturated gel was sprayed over the vessel ligation sites, the womb and vaginal stumps, and the surroundings to form gel film. Trehalose solution was also sprayed over every 15 minutes to examine its adhesion-preventive effect. Adhesions were observed at suture and ligation sites as well as the distant sites. We have confirmed that spraying trehalose solution can reduce and prevent adhesion formation.
